What is a Cookie?
Cookies are small text files that are sent to your device from a website when you visit that website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site. When you visit the same website again, the cookie is sent back to the originating website (or other website that recognises the cookie) and allows it to recognise your device. In effect, the cookie acts as a memory for the originating website allowing it to ‘remember’ your preferences and enabling it to tailor and/or improve your browsing experience.
More information about cookies can be found at https://www.aboutcookies.org/
Types of Cookies
Cookies are either “session” cookies, which expire at the end of the user session, or “persistent” cookies which are stored by the user’s browser and remain valid until their expiry date (unless deleted by the user before the expiry date).
Essential Cookies are necessary for the running of our website and without them parts of our website would not function.
Analytical Cookies are used to monitor the use of our website to provide us with information that helps us to provide a better service.
Third Party Cookies: our website uses links to third party websites and also uses third party services such as YouTube video. These sites may independently set cookies. They also have their own independent privacy and data protection policies which are not in our control.
How to Control and Delete Cookies
You are not obliged to accept cookies and may modify your browser’s settings to manage your interaction with them. Please note that if you refuse or disable cookies, some of a website’s functionality may be lost. Also, disabling a cookie does not delete it from your browser; you will need to do that yourself from within your browser’s settings.
